Install ISPConfig 3.1 on Ubuntu 18.04

  1. Download the server edition of Ubuntu 18.04 and install it as usual
  2. Rename the network interface to eth0
  3. Remove netplan, install ifupdown and configure IP addresses
  4. Configure UFW (Uncomplicated Firewall)
    Open TCP ports 22, 25, 80, 443, 465, 993, 8080
    Open UDP port 123
  5. Add nameservers
  6. Install ISPConfig according to the Perfect Server installation instructions
  7. Install missing packages for amavisd and configure it for ISPConfig 3.1
  8. Secure ISPConfig installation with SSL certificates as described at howtoforge.com
  9. Update Spamassassin
  10. Allow dots for IMAP folders for Dovecot Listescape plugin
  11. Install Sieve service for Roundcubemail and Thunderbird
  12. Install ISPConfig Automail
  13. Install SPF, DKIM, DMARC
  14. Install Spamassassin autolearn
  15. Improve Postfix antispam settings
  16. Install Munin
